COMMISSIONS
OVERVIEW OF THE COMMISSION PROCESS
Commissions and custom projects begin with a simple description of your vision via a commission questionnaire. I encourage you to send photos, fabric swatches and any other inspiration ideas. I also recommend that you look through the catalogs of paintings in the portfolio section of my website and take note of the works that you are drawn to.
We will then discuss color, composition, size and price to begin to bring your piece to life. Once a plan is created, you will receive a contract and deposit invoice to secure your spot on the commission order list. Turnaround times vary, depending on the complexity of the piece, but paintings are usually completed within 8-12 weeks. Please let me know if you have a deadline and I will do my best to complete the work by the date needed.
FAQ'S...
WILL YOU SEND PHOTOS THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS?
I don’t typically send photo updates as my work often involves many layers and it’s difficult for the client to visualize where I’m going with the piece. And the excitement of the big reveal at the end is the best part of commissioning a painting. However, if you have any concerns about the direction of the work or the progress, please let me know.
WILL YOU HANG THE PAINTING FOR ME?
While I am unable to hang the painting(s) for you, I can provide you with easy instruction and guidance in the placement of the commission.
WHAT IF I’M NOT 100% SATISFIED WITH THE PIECE?
If you are not satisfied with the final commission, you will be able to use your 30% deposit as credit to apply to the creation of another piece. If you are not satisfied with the second commissioned piece, the credit may then be applied to any other piece of available work.
